Day 11... After a long break :)

Day 11
Date: 27/Jan/2012
So after 5 days of being busy with arranging a party to falling sick, I came back to my routine today. Woke up at 7, did my pranayam and basic yoga. Had my breakfast on time, cooked food for myself. Slogged in office for three hours above my duty hours, came back at 7.30 pm. My television set is not working properly, which is helping to have early dinners and sleep on time :)
So my diet was like as follows:-
Woke up at 7 am
7.20 am -- 1 banana
4 tabs spirulina
1 tbsp Morinzhi
9.45 am -- 2 helpings of upma with coconut chutney
1.45 pm -- Rice, shahi paneer and stuffed capsicum
4.00 pm -- Tea and 1 biscuit
8.15 pm -- 3 chappatis and cabbage sabzi
10.30 pm -- 1 pair of RG-GL
1 tbsp of Morinzhi
Slept...

Day 3

Day 3
Date - 19/Jan/2012
There are few days which you just want to erase from your life and Day 3 was just that. Not because I didn't stick to my diet and excercise regime, but it was just disappointing on the whole.
Ok so to begin with, I was super enthu after the disaster that was Day 2, so I woke up at 6 am in the morning and braving the harsh Delhi winter (it was the season's coldest day, minimum temperature: 3-4 degrees), went out for a jog at 6.30. And just after I came out of my lane and reached the colony park, woosh... It was as if someone smacked me with a hard punch on my chest and I was down. The chilly winds blowing at that early hour, coupled with the heavy dense fog literally sucked the life force out of me. So after 20 minutes of slow walk after some warm up, I ran back home and got inside my quilt. Tigger, who was taking a nap after drinking a bowlful of warm milk which I had given her before leaving, gave me a look which spelt 'LOSER' and turned away and slept.
As I was in the evening shift, I planned to cook for myself and stick to the diet routine. I got out of my quilt around 9 am and made some matar-aaloo poha (it's a delicacy when eaten with hot jalebis in Jabalpur -- that's where I come from).
After the poha, I planned to clean up my cupboard and cooked my lunch and took my beauty bath. Yeah, I call it that because I take a lot of time in preparing for it and go for my own mani, pedi, scrubbing... In short my personal spa experience. I was more regular with it during college but now I just don't get time.
Then I went to office at around 3 and had an aweful day. No matter discussing it but I didn't have my dinner and was pretty much upset over it.
Diet for Day 2
Woke up 6am
06.25 am -- 4 tabs spirulina
1 tbsp Morinzhi
1 guava
09.00 am -- 1 bowl poha and milk
11.00 am -- 1/2 gur chakli
01.45 pm -- 1 bowl dal
1 serving of cabbage
3 chapattis
04.30 pm -- 1 idli with sambhar
No dinner :(
Lesson learnt: People/things/situations who don't matter to you, shoudn't be able to punish you.

Day 2

Day 2
Date: 18/Jan/2012
So as I mentioned on my fb status msg and twitter account, Day 2 was as disappointing as any sequel to a hit movie/book series (For example: Harry Potter, Rocky, Twilight, Lord of the Rings...etc). This was my 'Impact Day' (PTIians would understand, others nothing great, just that one has to reach before normal working hours) in office, so had planned for an evening workout in advance.
I reached office at 9 am and finished my desk shift at 3.40 pm, then rushed for an assignment to the hotel Ashok. Now, for journalists, whenever they go to a five star no matter how shabby it is, it's ultimately about the FREE FOOD! So, even if you wouldn't eat such things when they are available in plenty, if it's free it becomes irresistable...
So, I ate my heart, eyes and I don't know what all out. Lesson learnt: Stick to smaller portions through the day rather than gorging later. I skipped my smaller portions yesterday and was terribly hungry by the end of the press conference I had gone for. Came back to office at 6 pm and left for home at 7.45 pm and reached at 8.30 pm. Cooked my dinner by 9.15 pm and wasn't left with any time but to sleep...
So, only sat in #Vajrasan for 8-10 minutes and slept.
What a waste but I prefer sleeping over it than stressing over it and that's what I did :)
Diet Day 2 (Am going all red typing this, not blushing people but ashamed... >:-()
Woke up: 7 am
7.20 am -- 4 tabs Spirulina
1 tbsp Morinzhi
1/2 bowl pomegranate
9.45 am -- One serving of Upma, one vada and a cup of Chai
12 pm -- One cup of lemon tea
1.30 pm -- Egg biryani (office canteen's food menu was awful, so went to another office's canteen)
5.15 pm -- We need drumrolls before this....
Half potli matar samosa (I hate samosa), 1 bite of Tiramisu (I puke on chocolate), 1 brownbread sandwich, 2 mini paneer balls and 1 mini asparagus-cheese tart and 1 full slice of Apple Pie!
9.30 pm -- Rohu Fish curry (2 pieces) and 1 & 1/2 bowls of brown rice (Not making excuse but was way tired to make chapattis)
11 pm -- 1 tab each of RG-GL and 1 tbsp of Morinzhi.
Slept after 11.50 pm.
PS: Someone asked me today that when I'm going to disclose my weight on a public platform... Thought long and hard about it... Give me some time, will do it soon :) God bless all!

Day 1

Date: 17/Jan/2012
So what did u guys do yesterday? Lemme tell u about my day...
Ok so yesterday Delhi witnessed the coldest day of the season (max temp: 14 degrees C). So even as my fone's alarm clock kept screaming at me to wake up at 6.15 am (ambitious!!! I know :p), I kept snoozing it and woke up at 7.30. I'd to leave for office at 8.45 am, so I decided to go for an evening workout.
I came back from office at 7.30 pm. Played a bit with my kitty 'Tigger' (it's rejuvenating to the core, try doing it wid a pet or dancing/playing with a kid whose around) and started with some stretching exercises. Then I went for some upper body exercises like alternate forward lunges, and lower body thingies squats, sit-ups and suryanamaskar and finished it off with pranayam and relaxation.
Yoga tells us that one shud feel refreshed after a workout and not dead tired, so for that very reason try relaxation activities like shavasan or baby cradle post ur workout session.
Ok so what all did I eat??? #Rujutadiwekar advises to take meals every 2-3 hours and eat more during ur active hours and less post sunset. But if you go for a workout in the evening, don't forget to have a proper meal post that. So following is my understanding of her popular celeb diet :)
Woke up -- (8 am) 4 #spirulina tabs (read about it)
1 tbs #morinzhi (-- ,, --)
Banana
Breakfast -- (10 am in office) 4 puris and sabji
Brunch (12 pm) 1 lemon tea

Lunch (1.45 pm) Kadhi chawal
(3.30 pm) 1 til-gud chakki
Evening (5.45 pm) 2 idlis, sambhar and cocunut & peanut chutney
Night (9.00 pm) Omelette curry and 1/2 katori brown rice

Sat in vajrasan twice for 5 minutes.
Slept at 11.40 pm... Yawnnn

THAT IS IT

Ok guys THAT IS IT.
Well I've been someone who has dealt with weight issues all her life and let me admit being the "CUTE" one Does Not make me happy >:-( I've always had a heavier build but I used to be pretty fit till my school as I played quite a many number of sports. But now I'm in my mid-twenties, and already facing a lot of medical issues, like bone weakness, iron deficiency, low Hb count, the works... On the exterior I look soo fat but inside I know I'm getting weak.
Have u heard the buzz about this new book by Kallie Puri called #Confessions of a Serial Dieter? or about #Rujuta Diwekar's two books -- Don't lose your mind, lose your weight and Women and the weight loss tamasha or # Deanne Panday's I'm not stressed??? Dese books show that keeping fit is just not a celebrity fad but real life necessity.
Rujuta's books have been personally an eye opener for me as they don't ask me to stop eating everything I was brought up on but logically explains the importance of a healthy diet. Ok but yes, there are things for which you have to consult her but she is wayyyy beyond the reach of my pocket (Rs 1,25,000 for 2 months consultation....aaahhhhh).
I see a lot of people (especially women) going through these torturous diet regimes in order to lose their weight asap. But the same people will also be seen fainting due to lack of nutrition, a lot of breakouts on their faces, dark circles under their eyes, and a million other things...
I have gone through a loootttt of it myself. My problem has always been finding a good trainer. I mean any single form of cardio excercise should not be done beyond 20 minutes, dats like a cardinal rule but seeing a fat gal (Read Me!), all dese fanatic trainers (yeah... hardly any of them are properly trained themselves) will force you to run on a treadmill for 30-40 minutes. I've had too many ankle sprains to prove the same. And after starting on a very enthusiatic note every year, I end up sad and weighing the same on the number on the scale.
So this year, I made a promise to myself that no more living a life of in an unhealthy body. My birthday is on July 27 and I want to look beautiful (READ HOT :p) this year and NOT CUTE. And moreover, I don't want to waste all my leaves running around hospitals but use them in going around places and seeing and experiencing new things :)
The reason for publishing it online is that I need a push to do something, and as I make this commitment on a public platform, I can't runaway from it. So, I invite all my friends who wanna join me in getting it right this time and are up for opting a healthy lifestyle. Let's do it together ppl, we can and we shall do it.
I'm gonna posts my daily updates on my blog as well as this page and all are invited to share their experiences, pictures, videos, diets, exercise regime on these platforms. Let's help each other, and please encourage, dun make fun of each other, and yeah ppl who are underweight or just gifted wid a gud physique are also more than welcome to join us. This is just not about shedding the extra pounds/kilos but leading a good wholesome life.
PS: People making lewds comments will be blocked, so stay away!!!
